Christopher McCormick

Christopher develops talent for the future. For more than 25 years, he has built HR strategy around a simple conviction: the strongest organizations put coaching and developing people at the heart of everything they do.

His career spans some of the most recognizable names in business. He spent 15 years at Bank of America, then held leadership roles at Starbucks, HP Inc., and Blue Shield of California, including People-side integration work across eight acquisitions. Most recently at Gilead Sciences, as Senior Director, Talent, Development & Inclusion, he defined the capabilities and frameworks that support organizational health, team development, change management, and coaching.

In 2025, Christopher founded Visionary Consulting, a San Francisco-based executive coaching and leadership development firm. Today he partners with small and mid-sized businesses and Fortune 100/500 clients across life sciences, technology, healthcare, and financial services on leadership, change, and culture. Visionary Consulting was named Human Resources Consultancy of the Year at the Corporate LiveWire Global Awards 2026/27, and Christopher was named to Engagedly’s 2026 Top 100 HR Influencers in the Leadership Development category, alongside Adam Grant, Amy Edmondson, David Rock, Liz Wiseman, and others.

Christopher also helps shape how others lead. He advised the Building Innovative Leaders executive education program at Stanford, designed the Growing Innovative Leaders executive education program in partnership with National Taiwan University EMBA, and is a frequent panelist and lecturer at Golden Gate University. He is a Six Sigma Green Belt, a NeuroLeadership Institute Certified Facilitator, and a Senior Professional Career Coach (SPCC) through the IACC. A BFA graduate of Webster University in Musical Theater, he performed in national Broadway tours, and that stage background informs his executive presence, his storytelling, and the way he connects with the leaders he serves.

His work has been recognized throughout his career. In 2024, The Continental Who’s Who and The Marquis Who’s Who honored him for professional integrity and outstanding achievement, and in 2025 MagnateView named him a “Top 5 Leader Redefining Success.” CIO Today Magazine named him “Most Visionary & Influential HR Professional” of 2023, and CIOLook included him among “The 10 Most Influential HR Leaders To Follow” in 2022. He is a six-time ONCON ICON Award winner for Top 50 HR Professionals (2021–2026), and has earned HP’s Leading the Way Award, the Spirit of Starbucks Award, a Brandon Hall Award for Best Learning Team, and two Bank of America Awards of Excellence.
